Tapas – Comics and Novels App Reviews

Would it be better if we could download the comics or books so that we can read w/o wifi???

After the last update ruined my Tapas experience in my slightly old phone, I decided to re download the app again. Lucky me, they offered me to download a previous version compatible with my phone!... only to find out they wouldnt let me use the app unless I, again, download the newest version, which doesnt work on my phone!! Theyre playing with my emotions, this is such a huge disappointment. I thought Tapas(tic) described themselves as the YouTube of comics. That is very untrue.

Whats the point of these keys and coins or whatever theyre called?! It went from a fun app to follow some really great comics to something that feels like something that just wants to make money. Why cant we have our simple Tap back? And I cant even read half of the comics that I follow because they dont fully load. I am very close to deleting this app if things arent fixed to where I can actually read all the things I follow.

I was really excited when I got the Tapastic app! An app completely geared towards artists and readers?? Amazing!!! Tapastic became my usual daily thing, Id be in the middle of school and get my feed all up, or after school, my favorite webcomics would update! I was extremely worried when the site was down and now that Tapastics changed into Tapas, I always feel like theres something missing when I go on my phone now because I dont have daily feeds anymore and I can only open maybe two new updates before the app stops loading pages. The app is very hard for me to navigate now and because of pages not loading, I have to pick and choose which pages I would rather read and the updates keep piling up, so I end up all around just avoiding the app from the major stress its giving me. Im not too fond of the app now.

I dont know where you got the idea to completely revamp the Tapastic app, but stop. Not only theres no more daily selection - where I discovered most of the comics I follow -, newer comics simply WONT LOAD. Since the app was updated, Ive not been able to read a single comic strip. If I have to go to the website, why do I need the app? Please, do rethink this update. I havent been using it for long, but I really loved it.

The app used to be fine, but ever since it updated I havent been able to read most of the comics. Im not as bummed about the comic snack as I am about the app being useless now. Please fix it soon!

At first, it seemed like a pretty good layout and my hopes were set high. As I was trying to catch up on some comics, I go to the newer episode that came out and then the page wouldnt load. Thinking its just my phone not loading the image, I got off the app, put a pause on reading and waited until the next day to finish up. I go on the next day and its still doing the same thing! Then you have to buy keys for some episodes which I find ridiculous! Why?!? Why is it we have to buy keys to unlock a comic that you havent made?!? I am very frustrated and started to think its not worth having this app anymore! I dont want to get rid of the app because of the time I invested in some comics that became my favorite stories and inspired me to get back into drawing!

No matter how many times I try to fix it, I am still not able to view the episodes in my subscription. This frustrates me a lot and now I cant read anything on this app so I barely use it. I do miss the five comics page because it let me discover new artists that I enjoyed reading their comics. I also see no need for the coins.

While I dont mind the UI and I like the coin idea to help the writers,the comics will not load and there is really no point to this update and its features if I cant read anything

Its been almost two weeks since the update and they have yet to fix it. All I want is to be able to read my comics again but new chapters are just showing up blank. I tried uninstalling it and it still didnt work. Hope they fix this soon

I dont usually write reviews, but please go back to the old app. The update is horrible, missing the five daily comic snacks, and not loading a thing. I honestly wish I could rate lower. Ill be uninstalling the app and just getting on my computer to read anything for now, given the app doesnt work on my phone anymore so there is no point in keeping it.

Id give this app 5 stars if you could search for comics, removed the coins and keys, and actually let me load comics.

Cant stand the new update! Most of the comic pages I try to view wont even load no matter if Im using data or wifi. What the heck is up with this buying keys to unlock episodes business. And what happened to my 5 employee pick of the day comics? Those were great for finding new artists! Seriously though THE COMICS WONT LOAD SO WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS APP EVEN.

I want the daily comic back. That was the highlight of this app. Now its just collecting dust.

I, and other people Ive talked to, would appreciate a search bar.

So disappointed with the recent update. Some of the chapters wont even load so its just a blank page. Requires keys and coins to read chapters. Totally lame, I liked the old taptastic better. Really sad Tapas took over. :(

-Nearly 2 weeks and no rollback update, the developers want to see how low of a rating they can get. -Worst UI I have encountered, not user friendly at all. -I know what Im reading, I dont need a continue reading tab covering a 4th of the screen reminding me, right on top of my library. Who ever is designing this update is terrible and should feel terrible. -No 5 comics a day anymore. -About 60% of the comics wont load even if you reset your wifi and phone. -You need to buy coins for keys, useless step so they can steal more money from you. -You need a key for EVERY chapter of a book, definitely avoiding any book that is on this cause it would be cheaper to buy it somewhere else and actually get quality work. -Wondering why Im even trying to give it a chance at this point, its so painful to use.

Mostly when I tried to log in I couldnt log into my old account which I had to make a new one, leaving behind my old account and where are the daily picks or the search bar, Im really disappointed to see Tapas take over and I rather have Tapastic back :(

The app is great but a search bar would be great!!!!
